Porcelain Countertops for Indoor and Outdoor Kitchens

While new in the U.S. market, full slab porcelain for kitchen countertops has already proven itself in the European market to have all the best characteristics that people love in granite, quartzite or marble slabs.

Then what is the difference? – It’s a question you may ask, and the answer is quite simple: full slab porcelain has the beautiful natural stone characteristics, but they come without the hassle.

Natural stone can have such as fissures, but full slab porcelain does not stain or etch like some natural stones can.

It might sound overselling, but these porcelain slabs do live up to such hype, so lets break it all down.

What is granite?

As granite is the most well-known igneous rock, it is no surprise that the material is very popular amongst homeowners.

It is a natural stone, a result of the mixture of multiple minerals, therefore, it comes in a great diversity of colors and with visible grains.

The material is formed in the layer of the cooled molten rock, resulting it being a very durable stone.

Given its durability, it is scratch and heat proof with the proper sealing of the product.

As a natural occurring stone, granite can be found in many famous areas of our nature, for an example it can be seen in the Yosemite Valley in California and Pike's Peak in Colorado.

Moreover, it has widely been used as a construction material such as floor tiles, or a countertop material for centuries and has held its popularity.

Why granite?

Why granite?

Granite has all the qualities you need for not only a beautiful bathroom vanity countertop, but a long-lasting one as well.

All enemies of furnishing (heat, maintenance, and vulnerability) are incomparable to the characteristics of granite.

  • Heat-resistance – you don’t have to worry about leaving the curling wand or hair-straightener on this material as it will not cause it to crack. Granite has the quality of being heat-resistant up to 1200 degrees, showing no signs of damage.
  • Low-maintenance – with the proper sealing, soap and water or an everyday organic cleaner is more than enough to keep it clean at all times. Easy and cheap.
  • Hard to destroy – as it was mentioned before, granite is, for the most part, as long as the correct measures are taken for maintenance, scratch and heat proof.
  • Long lifespan –investing into granite bathroom vanity countertops can save you money on the long-run as it can be an everlasting piece in your home.

How low is the ‘low-maintenance’ of granite bathroom vanity countertops?

When it comes to granite, it is good to remember; sealing is its best friend.

Granite has pores–just like people do–and it can absorb liquids very easily, resulting in having a permanent stain without the right care.

Keeping your counters sanitary and avoiding dirt seeping into the pores can easily be avoided with the proper up keep and sealing.

A regular sealer product would last for about a year in general, however, we offer a Senguard sealer in which can protect your countertop for up to 15 years.

With the care above, along with the everyday cleaning, your granite countertop can last you a lifetime.

You don’t have to be meticulous with the material, just keep your wits about it, as you would with anything else in your house.

Colors of granite vanity bathroom countertops

Since granite is a natural stone, there is a variety of colors you can choose from.

We usually have approximately 50 colors in stock from which you can choose, however, no granite slab has the same color.

In general, if you are looking for something more modern, we recommend lighter colors or white with movements – the more movements you have, the easier it is to maintain it.

Also, busy movements can help you to put two almost identical colors together in case you want to use remnants.

If your bathroom has more of a traditional impression, darker colors could definitely be great options for you.

As no granite slab is the same, the prices of colors will differ.

As we have discussed above, an investment into granite bathroom vanity countertops can last a lifetime.

However, because of its hardness and the long durability of the material, it can be quite expensive.

The factors of the costs are various. It is extremely important:

  • where it comes from – the farther it is from, the more expensive it is to ship to your house
  • how difficult the mining is – the deeper it is in the soil, the more time and people it takes to produce it
  • what the color is – some colors are more rare than others.

To ease your expenses, Zsolt Granite Corporation is proud to use the square foot program in which you pay only for the amount of material that is used for your bathroom vanity countertop that is in our stock program as opposed to buying a whole slab and not using all the material.

Testimonial

We are so pleased with our new countertops. We own a rental home in Kissimmee, Fl but we live in Chicago. We were a little apprehensive about finding the right person to do the job for us. We found Zsolt Granite using the internet and decided to give them a call because of the positive reviews. Dwight from Zsolt Granite called us back the next day and we set up a time for him to go to our home to do an estimate. He did so promptly and called back with a favorable estimate. After deciding to go with this company, Dwight sent us pictures of different granite colors and answered our many questions regarding the project. We arrived yesterday to our Florida home and we couldn't be more pleased with the job. The countertops are just beautiful. I was so impressed with the workmanship and how clean they left our home. I'm sure there must have been a lot of dust and debris from the removal of the old countertops but there was no evidence of them being here other than the beautiful finished job. I would highly recommend this company mainly because:
l. Their quote was the best of the 3 other companies
2. Dwight returned our call/email within a few hours with any questions or concerns
3. The workmanship is top notch
4. They are very respectful of your home; cleaning up after the project is complete.
