Porcelain Countertops for Indoor and Outdoor Kitchens

While new in the U.S. market, full slab porcelain for kitchen countertops has already proven itself in the European market to have all the best characteristics that people love in granite, quartzite or marble slabs.

Then what is the difference? – It’s a question you may ask, and the answer is quite simple: full slab porcelain has the beautiful natural stone characteristics, but they come without the hassle.

Natural stone can have such as fissures, but full slab porcelain does not stain or etch like some natural stones can.

It might sound overselling, but these porcelain slabs do live up to such hype, so lets break it all down.

What is quartzite?

It is a natural metamorphic rock which is found and mined in slabs in forests and used in architecture, constructions, manufacturing and even for decorative purposes.

Its interlocking quartz grains have unbelievable strength – resulting it being the hardest material on the market –, therefore, the slabs are cut with diamond blades.

The manufacturing is a very complex process, so it needs time and takes special skills which all are finished by polishing the top of those slabs that are sold to buyers.

Quartzite is not as porous as marble or granite but since it’s a natural material, it needs sealing to last a long time in your house.

The material also has UV-resistance, which is unique among its competitors, and a very high heat-resistance.

Why choose quartzite?

If you are looking for the hardest material on the market which is still pretty and has the glow of marble, quartzite is definitely for you – the big difference is that it is not as delicate as marble, so you should not live your life worrying about destroying the surface.

It is very adaptive and not sensitive to sun at all, which is a perfect fit to a bright and open bathroom and ideal for anyone using heat-styling products often according to its highly heatproof feature.

The polishing on the top is so fine that it is very difficult to scratch it.

How do I maintain my quartzite bathroom vanity countertop?

Just like any other natural material with porousness, quartzite needs to be sealed to avoid any stains and keep it clean.

It is important to note that even though the level of porousness is varied on each individual slab of quartzite, it is crucial to seal them to keep them from aging and staining.

However, after sealing, the maintenance is extremely easy:

  • regular soap and water
  • no abrasive cleaners or acidic liquids
  • in case of spills, immediately wipe them with a damp cloth

While it is highly scratch- and heat-resistant, we still do recommend using hot pads before placing anything hot on it and cutting boards when working with sharp knives because as the saying goes it’s better to be safe than sorry.

What colors are there of quartzite?

Just like any other material, quartzite is no exception in its wide range of colors.

At our showroom, we have several different colors stored but due to its natural formation and the presence of several minerals and iron oxide in it, its variations are endless.

In general, quartzite slabs are mostly white or gray but unique colors like pink, red, yellow, orange, blue or green are also often available.

Of course, the color choice will highly depend on what you want to see in your home. A more modern bathroom will require something different than a traditional one.

The good news is that since you don’t need an entire slab of quartzite to make your dreams come true, you can easily use remnants to make up your own version of the material.

Plus, we can always help you to visualize your dream bathroom vanity countertop in our showroom, so just visit us and we’ll be more than happy to assist you on this road of (re)furnishing.

Prices of quartzite bathroom vanity countertops

When thinking about investing into quartzite, it is essential to see what you are getting for your money.

While quartzite has exceptional qualities, it is also rather pricey on the market right now – it is still seen as an exclusive material and being more rare has worked quartzite up to the higher end of the pricelist.

Fortunately, bathroom vanity countertops do not require so much of the material, so even if you decide not to spend a relatively big amount of money on your kitchen countertop, you can still dip your feet into the quartzite water when working on that vanity countertop for your bathroom.

Our square-feet program also applies here, meaning you would only pay for the amount of material we would use for your bathroom when choosing from our in-stock colors.

We are so pleased with our new countertops. We own a rental home in Kissimmee, Fl but we live in Chicago. We were a little apprehensive about finding the right person to do the job for us. We found Zsolt Granite using the internet and decided to give them a call because of the positive reviews. Dwight from Zsolt Granite called us back the next day and we set up a time for him to go to our home to do an estimate. He did so promptly and called back with a favorable estimate. After deciding to go with this company, Dwight sent us pictures of different granite colors and answered our many questions regarding the project. We arrived yesterday to our Florida home and we couldn't be more pleased with the job. The countertops are just beautiful. I was so impressed with the workmanship and how clean they left our home. I'm sure there must have been a lot of dust and debris from the removal of the old countertops but there was no evidence of them being here other than the beautiful finished job. I would highly recommend this company mainly because:
l. Their quote was the best of the 3 other companies
2. Dwight returned our call/email within a few hours with any questions or concerns
3. The workmanship is top notch
4. They are very respectful of your home; cleaning up after the project is complete.
