BACA has the largest installed base of robots working in the stone industry which means they have over 250 Robotic Sawjets installed in North America alone.

Let’s get technical for a bit…

The machine is powered by the German KUKA Robotics which has been in the business for over 200 years and is used worldwide.

Robo Sawjet utilizes a KUKA robot with a conventional saw combined with abrasive waterjet technology, providing a simple yet flexible solution to apply cutting operations on the chosen stone slab.

The system comes with two 90” x 144” cutting tables, one on each side of the robot resulting in getting the most work out of the machine’s operating time – this arrangement minimizes machine idle time.

It has an average cut time between 15-20 minutes per slab.

The Robo Sawjet is also water- and dustproof, and after 20,000 hours of use, it only needs a simple oil change - so the maintenance that it requires for manufacturing is very minimal.

Combining the cutting time and the dual table arrangement makes for a much quicker manufacturing process.

As revolutionary as it can get

Its KR C4 concept is revolutionary as, for the first time, the Robot is seamlessly and interactively integrated with control processes for PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and Safety.

Plus, its high pressure coils allow it to move from cut to cut faster than any CNC motion system in the industry.

The beauty of the Robo Sawjet is it uses Baca Systems software, which makes it much easier to program and less chance of mistakes: RoboCut automatically determines where and when the cuts should be made based on the digital layout.

The abrasive WaterJet part of the machine has been used in the automobile industry with a very high success and performance rate for decades now.

The RoboCut software, that operates the sawjet, automatically uses this waterjet process to prevent damage to the neighboring piece and provide flexibility with the layout placement on the slab.

Digital templating

The BACA Robot Sawjet uses the previously mentioned digital layout that is added to its operating system to manufacture your countertops.

To create these layouts, we use digital templating at your home to get the precise measurements of your kitchen and bathroom countertops.

The templating is done by our professional employees who use Laser Templating device on a tripod to collect all measurements needed with a laser light.

Once the templator is done, he collects and sends the data to our computer and we start working on possible layouts using the slabs that were chosen by you during your showroom visit.

The program uses slabs from our live inventory and helps us create the beautiful designs for our customers.

Our Slab Layout Program creates a 3D version of the countertops based on your parameters, so you can see the final product before installation.

Once you have chosen your favorite design, we send the chosen layout to the BACA RoboCut Software and it cuts out the slab we put on the table according to our template.
