Our process
We are happy that you took interest in our work by visiting our website.
If you took the time to look at our inventory or our blog, you may already have an idea about our slab selection and the tools we use to cut the slabs into the desired shape and size.
But what exactly happens if you decide to work with Zsolt Granite Corporation and you sign a contract with us?
Let us walk you through our process!
Step 1: Showroom consultation
Our preferred way of meeting customers for the first time is a consultation in our Orlando or Gainesville showroom.
For this first meeting, we kindly ask you to bring the following:
- Photos of the countertops you currently have
- A sketch of the countertops with measurements included
- Photos of the room you’re planning to remodel so that we have a better understanding of the layout
Please take the backside measurements of the countertop always at the longest point if there’s an angle.
It’s also possible to make an appointment with us for an in-home consultation, although we strongly recommend to visit our showroom first to look at all the options available to you.
Step 2: We take you through our inventory
We have more than 70 color variations in our stock, and we would like to be sure that our clients have access to viewing all of them.
Here we answer any questions you may have about the materials we offer, the methods we use to cut them, etc…
Once you found the perfect material for your home, we will show you samples of edges, and you can also choose a 15-year sealer application for any of our natural stone slabs, which will help make your countertop virtually maintenance-free, just like quartz.
And finally, we can show you sinks, faucets, garbage disposals and other accessories we have in our stock.
Step 3: Quote and contract signing
Once you have chosen your slab and accessories, our sales professional will create an estimate within 10 minutes, which will be presented to you on the spot.
The good news is, you will not have to pay for a full slab, thanks to our unique square foot program – this program allows you to pay for only what you need.
If you approve the price, the contract can be signed right then, and your project begins.
Step 4: Digital templating
This is probably the most important part of the whole project and will be the first time we make a visit to your home.
Please remove everything from your countertops before the appointment, so that our colleague can take the correct measurements.
You will also have to have the new sink, faucets or any other accessories at hand to be measured.
If any of these items are missing at the time, we will have to reschedule the templating, as the templater won’t be able to check if the sink fits into the cabinet and the countertop, and mistakes can happen.
We then create the template using a state of the art digital laser templater device.
This device is incredibly accurate: it takes 50 measurements per second and makes an average out these measurements.
When the template comes back to our office, we double-check if it matches the measurements provided by you at the first meeting.
If the template shows us that there will be more square feet of material needed than initially estimated, we create a change order and charge you for the additional square footage.
Similarly to this, if the template shows that we will have to work with fewer square feet than in the original estimate, we reimburse you for your extra expenses.
Step 5: Digital layout
The digital programmer will create a file with your slab layout based on the digital template.
If you purchased a digital slab layout, we will send you a photo of your custom project, so you can have the final say before the fabrication starts.
If the digital layout is approved, the slab goes to production.
It’s crucial that you let us know whether you approve the digital layout as fast as possible, because the lack of response can hold up the production.
Step 6: Production
Fabrication takes approximately 7-10 business days (digital layout included).
We are able to execute even the trickiest, most delicate cuts using our BACA Saw WaterJet.
We can also offer you the possibility to make the seams of your countertops invisible with our Seam Phantom machine, which will guarantee a smooth, extra tight countertop surface.
During the production process we will be in touch to inform you about the installation date. (We give a 4-hour window for our arrival on the date.)
Step 7: Installation
Before the installation process, please remove all items from your countertops and cabinets to make sure they stay clean and intact.
Installation times may vary depending on the scale of the project:
- single vanity cabinet – approximately 2 hours
- average kitchen – 3-4 hours
- large kitchen – 4-6 hours
- kitchen and bath altogether – 5-8 hours
When the installers are done, please look over everything very thoroughly.
If you see anything that you are not entirely satisfied with, the installers can do touch-ups while they are still there.
Reconnecting the plumbing will have to wait until the next day to make sure that the glue holding the sink would dry.
Step 8: Enjoy your gorgeous new countertops
Now that everything is done, all you need to do is sit back, relax, and enjoy your new premium quality countertops.
We do everything in our power to make sure your project goes as smooth as possible, and we hope that we can be part of the creation of your dream kitchen too.
