How to take care of granite countertops?
Sealing.
Granite is a porous material and because of this it is absorbent: wine, oil, juice, etc. creates an indelible stain on it which is not just bad-looking but also unsanitary as it could hold bacteria.
However, if your countertop is properly sealed by a professional, you don’t have to worry about these problems.
Generally, a common sealer product lasts only one year, but our special Senguard sealer will last for 15 years, so you don’t have to reseal it every year.
Proper cleaning is very important; never use harsh chemicals and sponges, only regular soap and water or a granite cleaner.
Harmful chemicals will break down the sealant and your countertop will become vulnerable to stains again.
Granite is one of the hardest stones but it doesn’t mean that it withstands everything.
If you hit it really hard, you can crack it and only a professional can repair it.

No two granite slabs are the same.
You can choose from a variety of colors, so the possibilities are endless!
As we said before, every granite slab was once a molten rock, and the composition of the original rock determines the color of the granite.
Some examples:
- if quartz was the main ingredient, the color will be probably white;
- potassium feldspar makes a salmon pink color;
- and muscovite is responsible for the gold and yellow shades.

If the slab was mined in a different country and had a long journey before it arrived at your home, the cost will be greater.
- What color did you choose?
The color of granite depends on many things, and therefore the costs are different depending on if it’s a rare or a common shade.
- How difficult was the mining?
If the granite slab is deeper, or under harder surfaces, the mining process takes longer and is therefore more expensive.
